Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra Design Revealed

Samsung’s upcoming next-generation smartwatches have leaked online by evleaks, including the Galaxy Watch 7 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra is one of the most interesting products in a slew expected to be shown at Samsung’s Unpacked on July 10, as it is a new line.

Rendered images show the design melds Samsung’s usual round display with a somewhat more rectangular, and Apple Watch Ultra-like, casing.

Some of the Galaxy Watch Ultra’s features have already been revealed in prior leaks.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra, expected to have a 590mAh battery and a large 1.92-inch OLED screen of 502 by 410 pixel resolution.

That display will be protected by Sapphire crystal, a harder alternative to Gorilla Glass from Corning.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra is also reported to use the Exynos W1000 processor, with a more advanced architecture than the W920. This could end up improving battery life but, of course, it’s the high overall capacity that will have the greatest effect here.

The Ultra may use the additional bulk of the body to provide next-level water resistance, one of the key draws of Apple’s Watch Ultra.

All three adopt an orange accent, seen on the primary side button and, in at least one design, the strap.

That flash of orange is also seen in the plain Galaxy Watch 7, although it is a far more familiar smartwatch, and looks much like the Galaxy Watch 6 available today.

They also suggest there will be at least three designs, and they don’t just switch out the look of the strap. One has a silver body and bezel, one a dark grey/black look. And a third matches a dark bezel with a bright silver casing.

All that hardware won’t come cheap. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is rumoured to cost $700, not too far off the $799 of an Apple Watch Ultra 2.
