At the core of the Pixel 8a could be the Google Tensor G3 processor, which is expected to support fast charging capabilities ranging from 27W to 30W—a significant upgrade from the Pixel 7a’s 18W charging. Rumours also suggest that the smartphone could feature a display with 120Hz refresh rate. Not only that but a 256GB storage variant could also be in the offing.The Google Pixel 8a smartphone is codenamed Akita, and it had appeared on Geekbench recently. It was running an underclocked version of the Tensor G3 chipset paired with Mali-G715 GPU. The smartphone was also listed with 8GB of RAM, and Android 14. The latest leak of the Pixel 8a also reiterate the phone's codename, and that it will be powered by the Tensor G3 chipset, the same that will debut on the Pixel 8 series.

Google will integrate a few AI features into the Pixel 8a camera. The promotional materials reveal an “AI-mazing” Pixel camera, incorporating features like Best Take, Audio Magic Eraser, and Night Sight. This doesn’t come as a surprise as all these features have been part of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones. Furthermore, the report reveals other AI features like Call Assist, enhancing call screening, email summaries, and the innovative Circle to Search function.

In terms of pricing, the Pixel 8a is speculated to start at 518 USD (approximately Rs. 43,200) for the 128GB variant, while the 256GB model may be priced at 579 USD (approximately Rs. 48,290).At the core of the Pixel 8a could be the Google Tensor G3 processor, which is expected to support fast charging capabilities ranging from 27W to 30W—a significant upgrade from the Pixel 7a’s 18W charging.
